Samurai scolds Ash for failing to capture Weedle and abandoning Metapod. The next morning, Ash goes back to the hive, but now he also has to deal with Team Rocket. Jessie and James are so loud that they wake up the Beedrill, and chaos ensues.
Ash reaches Metapod, who loses all confidence in him for abandoning it. Ash takes responsibility, and accepts the blame for his inaction. Moved by this, Metapod saves Ash and begins to evolve.
