Everyone paddles with whatever they have at hand, and even have Goldeen, Starmie, and Squirtle towing the raft as fast as they can. Despite this, they cannot escape the onslaught of the Gyarados, and the waterspout hits them dead-on.

The force of the tornadic winds is so strong that Team Rocket is sent blasting off. Ash, Misty, and Brock are able to hold a little longer, but in the end, they are lifted and thrown in all directions toward an uncertain fate...

A Deadly Waterspout

Ash sends Pidgeotto to look for dry land; instead, it finds Magikarp keeping Team Rocket afloat; the "useless" Pokémon saved their lives after all. Pidgeotto guides Magikarp to the raft, where Jessie, James, and Meowth are revived.

A day passes, and everyone is hungry and tired. Frustrated with their bad luck, James kicks and berates Magikarp, even though it saved them. In response, Magikarp evolves into Gyarados, and summoning others like it, creates a deadly tornadic waterspout.

The Surface

The two groups make it to the hull, where Charmander welds through the metal. With only seconds to act, Goldeen, Starmie, and Squirtle help Misty, Brock, and Ash out of the ship, and up to the surface. Team Rocket, however, only has Magikarp.

The Pokémon sold to James by the con man only splashes around, as the St. Anne finally sinks in the undersea canyon. Up in the surface, Ash and friends use debris to put together a makeshift raft.

The St. Anne Undersea

After sinking, the St. Anne fell upside-down on the very tip of a peak rising from a chasm in the bottom of the sea. Ash wakes up to find himself hanging from a table corner. Misty and Brock help him, and together explore the ship.

At the same time, Jessie and James regain consciousness in the galley. They are being broiled by a couple of stovetops burning their faces. After quenching the fires, they also start exploring the ship along with Meowth.

Memorial Service at Sea

Officer Jenny and other officials aboard of the ship PM16 pay tribute to the five passengers of the St. Anne that did not survive after the ship sank.

Jenny throws a bouquet of white roses to the sea in honor of those lost in the disaster. And the names of these five passengers: Ash, Misty, Brock, Jessie, and James!

The St. Anne Sinks

The St. Anne is about to capsize. Ash drops the Butterfree Poké Ball by accident, and starts chasing it. In the galley, James also drops the Magikarp Poké Ball, and Team Rockets tries to catch it. Everyone else has made it safely to the life boats.

A giant wave turns the ship upside down. Ash, Misty, Brock, and Pikachu are thrown with such force that they all lose consciousness. Jessie, James, and Meowth are also tossed around in the galley, and black out. The St. Anne sinks to the bottom of the ocean...

A Storm Brews

As the crisis is overcome, Ash has second thoughts about the trade he made, and asks the gentleman to give him back his Butterfree. At the same time, James is forced by Jessie to find the con man and get their salary money back.

Unknown to all, a storm brews in the ocean, and the ship starts rocking dangerously as it is struck by rogue waves. When the passengers see the captain trying to get away in a life boat, everyone panics and evacuates the ship in an instant.

Heist in the High Seas

Hours later, Team Rocket executes their heist. This time, Jessie, James, and Meowth are supported by a gang of grunts, and quickly start robbing everyone. Not willing to surrender, Ash incites the trainers to rise against the thieves.

Pokémon of all types start grouping by species and launching their counter-attacks en masse. When all the Pidgeotto use a group gust attack, a tornado forms that blasts most of the grunts away; then all the Pikachu get rid of the rest.

The Pidgeotto Gust Attack is devastating for the grunts.
