The Weedle that escaped Ash alerts its hive, and now a swarm of Beedrill -its evolved form- is about to attack the group with their poisonous sting. In the confusion, a Beedrill kidnaps Ash's Metapod.
Running from the swarm, the group comes across a cluster of Kakuna, that begin evolving into more Beedrill. Getting away to hide in Samurai's log cabin, they leave Metapod behind.
