What is a Poké Ball?

It is a lightweight spherical object designed to store Pokémon while they are in energy form. The middle button activates the Poké Ball, making it grow slightly and flip open. Trainers also use them to catch wild Pokémon. Poké Balls are easily carried in a belt or pocket, and connect to other devices. Pokémon rest comfortably while they are in a Poké Ball.

Trainers are allowed to carry 6 Pokémon at a time.

What is a Pokédex?

It is a portable device of encyclopedic nature, that provides its user with data and advice about species of Pokémon and their training. It includes a scanner that can read a Pokémon's level and moves. It also serves as a unique identification card. Professor Oak gives Ash a Pokédex on his first day as trainer.
