Big Event at the Beach

Moe owes Brutella money, and if he does not pay her by tomorrow, he will have to close the restaurant, and give her his boat. It had been his dream to travel around the world on that boat, but now, he is about to lose everything.

Professor Oak and Ash's mom, Delia, suddenly appear. They are in Aopulco with their Home Owner's Association. The Professor suggests organizing a beauty and Pokémon costume contest at the beach, to bring in lots of people and money.

Moe's Restaurant

Business at the restaurant is slow, so Ash gets everyone to help: Squirtle and Pikachu distribute pamphlets, Charmander and Pidgeotto keep the grill going, Bulbasaur and Misty wait tables, while he and Brock bring new patrons.

Things quickly pick up and customers keep coming in. That's until Team Rocket, jealous of their success, decides to intervene. Meowth sabotages the operation and quickly wrecks the whole business. In the blink of an eye, the customers are gone.

Moe's Delicious Corn on the Cob Heat garlic (5 cloves) and butter (1/2 cup) in a saucepan over low heat for 5 minutes without letting the butter simmer. Stir sugar (1 tbsp), salt (1 tsp), black pepper (1 tsp), and ground cumin (1 tsp) into the butter mixture. Evenly blend the juice of 1/2 a lime. Brush the corn with the garlic butter. Cook corn on a preheated grill, rotating and brushing with more butter every 5 minutes until hot and tender (about 15 minutes).

Moe, the owner of the boat, rushes to see the damage done to his property, which is significant. Without any money to cover the damages, Misty tells the old man that they will work at his restaurant to pay for the repairs.

Meanwhile, Jessie, James, and Meowth wash up in a private beach owned by a loan shark named Brutella. They ask the woman for work at her restaurant, so they can earn money to repair their busted submarine.

High-Speed Collision

The group is enjoying a high-speed boat ride. Misty praises Ash for the idea; Ash gives credit to Brock for getting the boat; Brock says he only followed Pikachu, who was already aboard. Uh-oh, looks like they just stole someone's boat!

The aquatic joy ride ends abruptly when the boat collides with Team Rocket's submarine as it emerges to the surface. Out of control, the boat crashes against a dock. Now the heroes are in real trouble!

Welcome to Aopulco

Aopulco is one of the beach resorts on the other side of the Giant Pokémon island. After all their misadventures since boarding the St. Anne, Ash and his friends finally get a break to enjoy the warm sun and tropical waters.

Team Rocket is not far, however, and they are already deploying their next plan. Using their pedal-powered Gyarados submarine, the misfits approach the beach intent on robbing all the wealthy beachgoers.

Everyone makes it safely out of the water, and go their separate ways. Team rocket is planning their next evil mission, while Ash, Misty, and Brock hike to the other side of the island, arriving in Aopulco.

The Boss gets a call notifying him that his theme park was destroyed. After investing millions in it, the venture is now in shambles. And that Slowpoke in the remote beach? It evolved into a Slowbro!

Welcome to Pokémon Land

The railcar finally splashes into a lagoon along with its passengers, leaving behind the charred and mangled wreckage of the creatures that serve as the main attraction of...

"Pokémon Land!" announces the tour guide of a Gyarados-themed water ride as it crosses the lagoon. Giant Pokémon Island is a big park, and the creatures were mechanical constructs for the visitors' amusement. They will be out of commission for a while!

Hold on to Something!

As the railcar gains even more speed, the missing Pokémon emerge from the jungle closely followed by all the other colossal creatures. The railway turns into a roller coaster looping around itself, causing the tangled giants to crash into each other.

At the same time, the Pokémon leap into the railcar and the arms of their trainers. The cable finally snaps, and speeding over a ramp, the ride takes off flying into the air.

The Ride Continues!

Jessie and James break the railcar's manual brake, and accelerate downhill toward the gigantic Kabutops. Getting tangled in the phone booth cable, the immense Pokémon gets dragged down the railway.

Ash and his friends lose the gargantuan Charizard, only to run into the enormous Pikachu while crossing this natural bridge. Startled, all three fall into Jessie and James' railcar as it passes underneath, tangling the big Pikachu with the loose cable.

The Ride Begins!

Things go from bad to worse as more gargantuan Pokémon appear everywhere: Ash, Misty, and Brock come across a gigantic Charizard, while Charmander and the others try to get help from a Blastoise, but are chased instead.

An enormous Pikachu smashes the booth that Jessie and James were using for cover, and then are hounded by a large Kabutops. The cable they followed leads them to an abandoned railcar, so they jump in it, and remove the brakes.

Jessie and James wake up, and it's morning already, so they return to the phone booth and make a collect call to ask the Boss for help. He is so mad that refuses to rescue them and hangs up. Jessie's plan: follow the cable from the booth until they find the phone company.

Meanwhile, the missing Pokémon leave the makeshift camp where they spent the night, and continue looking for their trainers. At the same time, Ash and his friends desperately search for his Pokémon.

The peace does not last long. As the Pokémon eat and think about their trainers, the ground starts shaking. A colossal Rhydon that towers over the trees causes a panic, and the Pokémon flee scared.

Things are not any better for Ash, Misty, and Brock, who are running away from an enormous Zapdos that flies above them crackling with electricity. Meanwhile, Jessie and James are being chased by a fiery Moltres that makes them smash into a big signpost.

Into the Jungle

Night falls, and still unable to find their trainer, Charmander guides the others into the jungle. Squirtle jokes that Ash was eaten by a wild Pokémon, while Bulbasaur and Pikachu argue about whether he abandoned them.

Suddenly, Meowth jumps from behind the bushes and orders them to surrender, but they ignore him. Then, Meowth commands Ekans and Koffing to attack, but they don't see it as their leader. Instead, they decide to have dinner with Ash's Pokémon.

A secluded Beach

In another beach, Pikachu wanders aimlessly looking for Ash. Instead, it finds three Poké Balls in the sand. After opening them, Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle are released. They are shaken up after being thrown around, but otherwise unhurt.

Charmander and Pikachu walk up to a Slowpoke that is lying on a rock near the water, and try to talk to it, but the dopey Pokémon does not respond. As if they were not there, Slowpoke just stands up and puts its tail in the sea.

Marooned

Jessie had received her Ekans as a birthday gift, and James got his Koffing last Christmas. Now both Pokémon have disappeared. Even Meowth with all his complaining is missing. What are they going to do?

Marooned and not knowing where to go next, Jessie and James lament their fate, when they notice a working phone booth strangely placed near the beach. Now, if only they had a coin to call for help...

A Tropical Paradise?

Ash, Misty, and Brock wake up in a tropical beach. Thankful for surviving the Gyarados' Dragon Rage attack,  they try to get their bearings, when Ash discovers that four of his Pokémon are missing!

Not far from there, Jessie and James are painfully brought around by a Krabbie that pinches them with its pincers. They can't believe they survived the water spout, but then realize that Meowth, Ekans, and Koffing are gone.

Blown Away

Everyone paddles with whatever they have at hand, and even have Goldeen, Starmie, and Squirtle towing the raft as fast as they can. Despite this, they cannot escape the onslaught of the Gyarados, and the waterspout hits them dead-on.

The force of the tornadic winds is so strong that Team Rocket is sent blasting off. Ash, Misty, and Brock are able to hold a little longer, but in the end, they are lifted and thrown in all directions toward an uncertain fate...

No one can resist the strength of the Dragon's Rage.

A Deadly Waterspout

Ash sends Pidgeotto to look for dry land; instead, it finds Magikarp keeping Team Rocket afloat; the "useless" Pokémon saved their lives after all. Pidgeotto guides Magikarp to the raft, where Jessie, James, and Meowth are revived.

A day passes, and everyone is hungry and tired. Frustrated with their bad luck, James kicks and berates Magikarp, even though it saved them. In response, Magikarp evolves into Gyarados, and summoning others like it, creates a deadly tornadic waterspout.

The Surface

The two groups make it to the hull, where Charmander welds through the metal. With only seconds to act, Goldeen, Starmie, and Squirtle help Misty, Brock, and Ash out of the ship, and up to the surface. Team Rocket, however, only has Magikarp.

The Pokémon sold to James by the con man only splashes around, as the St. Anne finally sinks in the undersea canyon. Up in the surface, Ash and friends use debris to put together a makeshift raft.

Upside-Down!

Misty sends her Goldeen to explore parts of the ship that are flooded, in hopes that it can find an exit. Instead, Goldeen finds Team Rocket drowning, and rescuing them, brings them to its trainer and her friends.

The two groups make a temporary truce and start moving to the hull of the ship, which is up. when they get to the engine room, they find it on fire, and unpassable. Fortunately, Ash's Bulbasaur helps them with its vines to cross to the other side.
